Real Estate News
What's going on in the Southeastern Wisconsin real estate market?
Across the counties of Walworth, Kenosha and Racine there are some common elements even though the markets are a bit different. Amazingly the new listings coming onto the market have shown a decrease in these counties by about 20%. Also, sales have increased over last year in these 3 counties. In Racine they have gone up 21%, in Kenosha they're up 4% and Walworth is up 9%.
What is interesting is that in each of the counties there have been big increases in the sales under $125,000. In all 3 counties this amounts increases between 25 -30%. So it's clear to see that most of the activity in these markets is coming at the affordable end of the home sales market.
13,000+ homes sold today!!
The National Association of Realtors is expecting a little over 5 million home to sell this year, which calculates to about 13,000 homes being sold per day. Nationally home sales were up 7.7% over last month and are up 18.6% over last year. So, yes homes are selling and things aren't at a stand still in real estate.
Big Dairy nearing completion on Rock/Walworth County line
If you've driven between Delavan and Janesville recently you certainly have noticed a change at the intersection of Highway 14 and Scharine Rd. just inside Rock County. A group from Nebraska led by Todd Tuls is building a 5,200 cow dairy operation on a 160 acre site. If things keep going as scheduled some cows could begin being milked by Thanksgiving. http://walworthcountytoday.com/photos/galleries/2010/dec/14/big-dairy-prairie/
