Real Estate NewsDon't Miss Out on the First Time Home Buyer CreditRemember first time home buyers… the $8,000 tax credit is running out. To qualify the home MUST close by November 30, 2009… no exceptions. Offers on homes should be accepted no later than October 16, 2009 to close by the November 30 cutoff date. Buyers should not consider purchasing short sales at this time as it’s very doubtful they could close in time. An extension to this tax credit has been discussed by members of Congress but at this time nothing has been formally proposed or is on the horizon. Walworth County Schools ReportThe new 2008/9 Public Schooling in Southeastern Wisconsin is out with lots of information on public schools. School district enrollment figures remained fairly constant in Walworth County. Enrollment numbers in Elkhorn, Lake Geneva, East Troy, Whitewater and Williams Bay were up from 0.61% - 2.565%. Only 2 districts were down and they were: Big Foot down 0.8% and Delavan/Darien down 2.05%. Attendance rates at all Walworth County district schools were above 94.7 % and were above the region average. Other highlights of the report showed that the top six schools in the percentage of 8th grade students receiving proficient or advanced scores for reading and math were:
In Walworth County, high school completion rates were generally above 90% and above the region average with Williams Bay at the top with 100%.
